New York House mix

Just a quick one this time round – on Tuesday I did my first actual interview for the blog! Really enjoyed it, but I need to transcribe it all now – not something I’ve got any experience of doing but hard can it be… The interview was with Gregg Fore, the man that signed Sha-lor’s “I’m In Love” to Jump Street and then worked with Ben Cenac on some of my most loved New York house records. He’s also one of New York’s pioneering record men who was key to bringing New York house on record labels like Jump Street and Warlock to the UK in the early days of the house and rave scene, although he’d never put it like that himself.
Anyway, more on that soon. In the meantime here’s a mix I put together back at the end of last year of some of the New York records that got me hooked in the first place.
I’m also getting close to finalising artwork for an After The Garage mixtape with the very talented Jake Denaji, hence the awesome new logo. That will be available pretty soon with any luck.
In the meantime, here’s some music:
0:00 Susan Clark – deeper (deep jazziness)
4:46 Underground solution – luv dancing
8:13 Bas Noir – I’m glad you came to me (dub mix)
